Specialized Investigative Services

Some matters need specialised knowledge of a particular regulation, transaction type or kind of wrongdoing. Our specialised investigations bring forensic accounting together with regulatory understanding and lawful intelligence gathering.

What we do

Money Laundering Investigations

AML compliance and suspicious transaction analysis

We review transaction patterns for layering, structuring and round-tripping, conduct look-back reviews of flagged accounts, and assess anti-money-laundering controls against the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 and the rules made under it. We support reporting entities and their Principal Officers; the decision to report to FIU-IND remains theirs.

Merger & Acquisition Support

Investigation support for business transactions

Forensic due diligence looks beyond the numbers presented to test the quality of revenue, undisclosed related parties and liabilities, and the background and integrity of promoters and key management, so that you know what you are buying before you sign.

Financial Crime Investigation

Complex financial fraud cases and regulatory violations

We investigate complex matters such as fake invoicing and input tax credit schemes, bribery and corruption, misuse of unpublished price-sensitive information, and circular transactions used to inflate turnover.

Corporate Intelligence

Business intelligence and competitor analysis

We build profiles of counterparties, promoters, distributors and competitors from lawful public and commercial sources, covering corporate filings, litigation, regulatory actions and media coverage. We do not use pretexting or any unlawful means of obtaining information.

When to engage us

  • Before an acquisition, investment or joint venture
  • Onboarding a significant supplier, distributor or agent
  • Suspicious transaction alerts that need deeper review
  • Regulatory enquiries or notices
  • Indications of fake invoicing or circular trading

  3. Connect the dots

Frequently asked questions

How does forensic due diligence differ from financial due diligence?

Financial due diligence analyses earnings, working capital and debt as presented. Forensic due diligence asks whether those numbers can be trusted, and looks for undisclosed relationships, irregular transactions and integrity concerns about the people involved.

Can you file suspicious transaction reports on our behalf?

No. Under the PMLA, reporting is the responsibility of the reporting entity through its Principal Officer. We provide the analysis that supports that decision.

What sources do you use for corporate intelligence?

Only lawful ones: statutory filings, court and regulatory records, commercial databases, media and interviews conducted openly. We document our sources so the findings can be relied on.
